Wet Bottom Ash Handling System
Our Products
Wet Bottom Ash Handling System
Key Benefits
Safe Ash Removal
Reduced Dust Generation
Continuous Ash Handling
Suitable for High-Ash Fuels
Reduced Ash Accumulation
Improved Boiler Operation
Safer Working Environment
Potential By-Product Utilization
Cooled slag may be suitable for reuse in certain construction and infrastructure applications, subject to material testing and applicable requirements.
How It Works
In coal-fired and other solid-fuel-fired furnaces, high combustion temperatures can cause ash to melt and form slag. The molten ash flows downward from the furnace and enters the water-filled wet bottom section.
The water rapidly cools and solidifies the molten ash, producing granulated slag that can be collected and removed safely and efficiently.
Applications
- Coal-Fired Boilers
- Solid-Fuel Boilers
- High-Ash Fuel Applications
- Industrial Furnaces
- Power & Process Plants
Maintenance & Corrosion Management
Because the system operates with water, regular maintenance is important to ensure reliable performance. Periodic inspection of the water-filled section, ash removal mechanism, liners, piping, and associated components helps manage corrosion, deposits, and wear.
Water level and operating conditions should also be properly maintained to ensure effective ash quenching and safe operation.
Customized Engineering
The Wet Bottom system can be designed according to:
- Boiler capacity
- Fuel type and ash characteristics
- Ash generation rate
- Furnace temperature
- Slag formation characteristics
- Required ash removal capacity
- Water availability
- Plant layout
- Ash disposal requirements
